Abstract:
Provided is a wavelength conversion element in which incidence efficiency of excitation light into the wavelength conversion element is improved, and light guiding of fluorescent light inside the wavelength conversion element is suppressed, whereby takeout efficiency of the fluorescent light is improved. The wavelength conversion element includes a substrate and a fluorescent layer. The fluorescent layer includes fluorescent particles, spherical-shell-shaped particles provided with a spherical shell, and a binder. The spherical-shell-shaped particles are provided with an interior space inside the spherical shell, and at least some of the spherical-shell-shaped particles include a filling material in the interior space.
