Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a wavelength conversion member that can achieve further improvement in fluorescence conversion efficiency, a light source device equipped with the wavelength conversion member, and a projector equipped with the light source device. The present invention provides a wavelength conversion member equipped with at least one phosphor layer, wherein the at least one phosphor layer contains a plurality of phosphor particles, and the plurality of phosphor particles have a mean free path of 0.05-0.1 mm, the mean free path being represented by equation (1). Equation (1): Mean free path (L) = 1/2 nσ where n is the particle number density (number of particles per mm3) of the plurality of phosphor particles, and σ is an effective cross-sectional area (mm2), σ being represented by equation (2). Equation (2): σ = π(a/2)2 where a is the mean particle diameter (μm) of the plurality of phosphor particles. The present invention further provides a light source device equipped with the wavelength conversion member, and a projector equipped with the light source device.
