Abstract:
Provided is a wavelength converting device with which color separation can be suppressed and light extraction efficiency can be improved, and with which a light distribution can be adjusted. This wavelength converting device comprises: a plate-shaped wavelength converting body which has a light receiving surface and a light emitting surface, which generates wavelength-converted light by converting the wavelength of incident light that is incident from the light receiving surface, and which emits the wavelength-converted light from the light emitting surface; and a plurality of antennas disposed on the light emitting surface of the wavelength converting body. In a first region of the light emitting surface, the plurality of antennas form an antenna array in which the plurality of antennas are each arranged with a predetermined period, and in a second region other than the first region, there is no antenna array. The length of an incident light optical path, from the light receiving surface to the light emitting surface, that leads to the light emitting surface in the first region is greater than the length of an incident light optical path, from the light receiving surface to the light emitting surface, that leads to the light emitting surface in the second region.
