Abstract:
A web joining device (30) is provided with: a first conveyance mechanism; a second conveyance mechanism; a joining mechanism (340); a first detection unit (317) that detects a terminal of a first web; a second detection unit (328) that detects a tip of a second web; and a movement information detection unit (350) that detects movement information on the first web. The second conveyance mechanism causes the second web of which the tip has been detected by the second detection unit (328) to be on standby. When the terminal of the first web is detected by the first detection unit (317), the first conveyance mechanism and the second conveyance mechanism convey the first web and the second web so that the terminal of the first web and the tip of the second web are continuous in this order at a joining position (P1) on the basis of a detection result of the movement information detection unit (350). The joining mechanism (340) affixes a joining tape so as to spread over the terminal of the first web and the tip of the second web that are continuous at the joining position (P1).
