Description:
WINCH DEVICE

The invention relates to a winch device for movable mounting to a vehicle lift table provided with two deck plates having a horizontal transverse beam in between, wherein the winch device is intended for placing a vehicle on the deck plates, comprising a winch.

The winch device according to the preamble is used for pulling a vehicle on the deck plates of a vehicle lift table. The winch of the known winch device is prior to use attached to the transverse beam by means of a cable of the winch. The outer end of this cable is prior to use attached to the vehicle, for example to a towing eye. After that the vehicle can be placed on the deck plates by winding up the cable of the winch. The winch can be operable electrically as well as manually.

The disadvantage of the known winch device is that when the cable is fully wound up, the vehicle is standing not yet sufficiently far on the deck plates. In practice it then comes down to it that the vehicle yet needs to be pushed by the user on to the deck plates.

In many cases the known winch device is attached to the transverse beam at a wrong location, whereby the vehicle is not pulled straight on the deck plates. In order to correct this, the tension needs to be removed from the cable and the winch device will have to be shifted over the transverse beam.

The invention has for its purpose to provide a winch device according to the pre- amble not having the abovementioned disadvantages. For this purpose the inventive winch device is characterized in that the winch device further comprises an elongated housing, wherein on a first outer end of the housing the winch is arranged and on a second outer end of the housing a U shaped mounting part is arranged intended for releasable mounting on and along the horizontal transverse beam, such that when using the winch device the housing is substantially perpendicular to the transverse beam and extends in a direction away from the vehicle lift table. The inventive measures ensure that the winch can now no longer get under the vehicle during winding up the cable, whereby the vehicle can be fully placed on the lift table by means of the winch device. Moving the winch device along the transverse beam is much easier than in the known winch device because of the U shaped mounting part.

Preferably the U shaped mounting part is formed by three plate parts. Thereby after placement of the winch device the plate parts lay against the flat underside, the flat upper side and one flat side of the transverse beam.

In order to prevent damages to the transverse beam and in order to protect the plate parts at least two plate parts are provided with a Teflon coating.

In a preferred embodiment of the winch device according to the invention the mounting part is arranged on the housing at an angle, such that after mounting the winch device to the vehicle lift table, the housing is at a maximum angle of 50° to a horizontal plane comprising the transverse beam. This enlarges the distance between the winch and the ground, whereby the winch is easier to be operated and het winch device is easier to be moved along the transverse beam by a user.

In order to allow the cable of the winch to run more horizontally, preferably on the housing a guide eye is arranged for guiding a cable of the winch.

The housing of the winch preferably comprises telescopic housing parts, wherein at least one housing part is provided with holes, the housing further is provided with a pin, and the length of the housing is adjustable by co-operation of the pin with the holes in the housing parts. Consequently the height of the winch can be adjusted to the height of the user in a simple manner. Additionally the winch can be further stretched in a direction away from the vehicle lift table also in a simple manner to prevent the winch device contacting the vehicle placed on the vehicle lift table. The invention will further be elucidated on the basis of the following drawings wherein:

Figure 1 shows the winch device according to the invention mounted on a vehicle lift table;

Figure 2A shows the housing part, onto which the U shaped mounting part is arranged;

Figure 2B shows a cross-section of the housing part, onto which the U shaped mounting part is arranged;

Figure 3 shows the housing part onto which the winch is arranged.

In the different figures like reference numerals indicate like elements.

Figure 1 shows the winch device 1 according to the invention that is mounted on a vehicle lift table 2. The vehicle lift table 2 is provided with two deck plates R of which only one is shown. Between the deck plates R a horizontal transverse beam D is attached. The winch device comprises an elongated housing 4, wherein on a first outer end of the housing 4 a winch 3 is arranged and on a second outer end of the housing a U shaped housing part 5 is arranged. The mounting part 5 is intended for releasable mounting on and along the horizontal transverse beam D, such that in use of the winch device 1 the housing 4 is substantially right-angled to the transverse beam D and extends in a direction away from the vehicle lift table 2. Plate parts P1 , P2 and P3 form the U shaped mounting part 5. Preferably the three plate parts P1 , P2 and P3 are formed out of one (metal) plate. P3 resides at the underside of the transverse beam D. At least two plate parts are provided with a Teflon coating. Preferably P1 and P2 are provided with a Teflon coating T. The mounting part 5 is arranged at an angle to the housing 4, such that after mounting the winch device 1 to the vehicle lift table 2, the housing 4 is at a maximal angle of 50° to a horizontal plane comprising the transverse connection D. On the housing 4 a guide eye 6 is arranged for guiding a cable K of the winch 3. For guiding the cable K the guide eye 6 is provided with an opening. For reinforcement of the guide eye 6 this opening is preferably closed by a swivel, whereby the swivel connects both outer ends of the opening to each other. The outer end of the cable K is attached to a vehicle preferably to a towing eye of the vehicle. The housing 4 comprises telescopic housing parts 7, 8, wherein the housing part 7 is provided with holes. The housing 4 is further provided with a pin 9. The length of the housing 4 is adjustable by inserting pin 9 in the holes 10 of the housing part 7. In case the vehicle is towed askew on the vehicle lift table 2, the location of the winch device 1 can simply be changed by shifting the winch device 1 over the transverse beam D.

Figure 2A shows the housing part 8, onto which the U shaped mounting part 5 is arranged. The housing 4 is at a maximum angle a, whereby a < 50°, with respect to a horizontal plane comprising the transverse connection D.

Figure 2B shows a cross-section of the housing part 8.

Figure 3 shows the housing part 7 onto which the winch 3 is arranged.

The invention is expressly not limited to the embodiment shown, but extends to all embodiments falling under the following claims.
