A wood pulp/polyester fiber composite wiping material having a sandwich structure uses a polysaccharide-modified wood pulp fiber as the middle layer, uses a polyester fiber as the outer layer, has a mesh formed from three layers of fiber, and is obtained by performing spunlace reinforcement after compositing. By treating the wood pulp fiber with chitosan and/or alginic acid, the advantages of the polyester fiber and the wood pulp fiber are combined, and a composite wiping material having excellent comprehensive performance is obtained. The obtained composite wiping material has excellent comprehensive performance, and the strength and water absorption are both significantly improved. The composite material is compounded by means of a spunlace reinforcement process, and spunlace process parameters, particularly the direction and pressure of a water needle, are optimized. The obtained wiping material has a wear-resistant surface, can perform repeated wiping for many times, has a large amount of water absorption and a high strength, and is not easy to tear and delaminate especially in a wet state.
