Description:
YARN QUALITY MONITORING SYSTEM IN WEAVING LOOMS

TECHNICAL FIELD

The present invention relates to a yarn quality monitoring system embodied to determine the quality of yarn used in weaving loom having a yarn feeding unit where the yarn needed for producing fabric is provided.

PRIOR ART

One of the greatest problems faced in weaving machines used in textile sector is the breakage of yarn. Breakage of the yarn may lead to time loss during production of fabric, and may also lead to various quality problems.

In this application with number JPH02289149, a system is disclosed which determines the number of breakages of weft yarn in a textile machine and which takes precautions and makes decisions for preventing breakage of yarn.

One of the main reasons of breakage of yarn is that the yarn quality does not have the required standards for production which is being realized. Since the yarns, provided by suppliers, may not always have the desired standards, the used yarns must be continuously controlled. This is very difficult and costly with the present methods and systems.

As a result, because of all of the abovementioned problems, an improvement is required in the related technical field.

In order to realize the abovementioned objects and the objects which are to be deducted from the detailed description below, the present invention is a yarn quality monitoring system embodied to determine the quality of yarn used in weaving loom having a yarn feeding unit where the yarn needed for producing fabric is provided. Accordingly, the improvement is that the subject matter yarn quality monitoring system comprises an input unit arranged to permit entering of a yarn identity information for a yarn placed to said feeding unit; and a processor unit which is embodied such that the data received from said input unit can be transferred, said processor unit is configured to receive the output signals from at least one yarn break sensor which produces an output signal when the yarn breaks in said weaving loom and to calculate a yarn breaking number and to correlate said yarn breaking number with the yarn identity information and to record said information in a memory unit and to access a reference breaking number information related to said yarn identity information and to compare said yarn breaking number with the predetermined reference breaking number information and to produce an output signal indicating that“yarn quality is not suitable” when it detects a predetermined deviation. Thus, the condition of whether the yarn quality is at the desired standards is determined for the yarns taken from the yarn suppliers and used in the weaving loom.

In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, said input unit is a barcode reader. Thus, the barcode of the yarn, put to the feeding unit of the weaving loom, is read where said barcode includes the identity information of the yarn, and said barcode is easily identified to the yarn quality monitoring system.

In another preferred embodiment of the present invention, said input unit is a user interface arranged to permit manual input of the user. Thus, the manual identification of IP identity information of the yarn, put to the feeding unit of the weaving loom, to the yarn monitoring system is provided.

The present invention is moreover a yarn quality monitoring method for use in a yarn quality monitoring system. The improvement of the present invention is that the following is described: taking the identity data, related to the yarn provided in the weaving loom feeding unit, through an input unit which permits data input, transferring said data to a processor unit, the processor unit is configured to receive the output signals from at least one yarn break sensor which produces an output signal when the yarn breaks in said weaving loom, to calculate a yarn breaking number according to the received output data, to correlate said yarn breaking number with the yarn identity information and to record said information in a memory unit, to access a reference breaking number information related to said yarn identity information, to compare said yarn breaking number with the predetermined reference breaking number information and to produce an output signal indicating that“yarn quality is not suitable” when it detects a predetermined deviation.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURE

Figure 1 is a block schema view of the yarn quality monitoring system.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

In this detailed description, the subject matter is explained with references to examples without forming any restrictive effect only in order to make the subject more understandable.

The subject matter is basically a yarn quality monitoring system (10) for determining qualities of yarns taken from at least one yarn supplier and used in weaving looms.

Said yarn quality monitoring system comprises a yarn feeding unit arranged to provide yarn to the weaving loom. The yarns coming from said feeding unit are used in weaving fabric as weft and warp yarn in the weaving loom. At least one yarn break sensor (300) is provided arranged to detect the breakage condition of weft and warp yarns in the weaving loom. In an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, each of the warp yarns passes through one each heald orifices. The weft yarns are included to the fabric by means of the weft insertion system. When a breakage occurs in the yarn, the tension of the yarn decreases and said yarn break sensor (300) is triggered and a signal is produced.

With reference to Figure 1 , the yarn monitoring system comprises an input unit (200) embodied to permit entering of the information of the yarn provided in the feeding unit. In a possible embodiment of the present invention, said input unit (200) is a barcode reader used in reading the barcode of the yarn which is put to the feeding unit. With the help of said barcode reader, the identity information of the yarn is identified to the yarn quality monitoring system without needing manual entering. In a different possible embodiment of the present invention, the input unit (200) is a user interface arranged to permit manual data entering of the user. By means of said user interface, the yarn identity information can be identified to the system without needing barcode. Said user interface can comprise one of or a number of interface(s) which permit(s) entering of all data, like a touch-screen, keypad, etc. Moreover, in an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, in order to provide all of the described advantages, the user interface and the barcode reader are provided together.

The yarn monitoring system moreover has a control unit (100) comprising a processor unit (1 10) configured to receive the data entered to the user interface. Said control unit (100) comprises a memory unit (120) embodied to record data in a temporary and permanent manner. The control unit (100) moreover comprises a communication unit (130) embodied to realize wired and wireless communication with peripheral units.

An exemplary operation scenario of the present invention is described below;

An identity information of the yarn, provided in the yarn feeding unit which is ready to be used in the weaving loom, is entered to the input unit (200). Said IP identity information comprises at least one of the information of the yarn like the information of the supplier of the yarn, total unit amount of the yarn, thickness of the yarn, denier of the yarn, raw material of the yarn, yarn resistance, break-elongation number, break-extension number, tolerance values.

The yarn identity information taken from the input unit (200) are taken by the processor unit (1 10) and recorded in the memory unit (120). The output signals coming from the yarn break sensor (300) and indicating that the yarn is broken as from the time where the yarn is begun to be used in the weaving loom are received from the processor unit (1 10) and counted and recorded in the part of the memory unit (120) associated with the yarn identity information.

The processor unit (1 10) is embodied to access the reference breakage values associated with the yarn identity information. In a possible embodiment of the present invention, the reference break values comprise the permitted standard break values, determined according to the identity information of the yarn, and the permitted tolerance values. In an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, the reference break values may be provided beforehand in the memory unit (120) or said values may be taken by means of the communication unit (130) through a server.

The processor unit (1 10) compares the yarn break number recorded in the memory unit (120) and the reference break points, and when there is a predetermined deviation from the reference break number, the processor unit (1 10) generates an output signal indicating that the yarn quality is not suitable. In a possible embodiment of the present invention, the processor unit (1 10) is embodied to notify the predetermined persons and/or the supplier company by means of a communication unit (130) that the yarn quality is not suitable when the processor unit (1 10) determines that the yarn quality is not suitable.

In a possible embodiment of the present invention, all of the yarn quality results taken from the suppliers are stored. When it is determined that predetermined amount of yarn does not have suitable quality, this is reported to the supplier. Moreover, by using the information of the suppliers kept in relation to the past; the price policy, the sanctions which are to be applied to the supplier, etc. can be determined.

The protection scope of the present invention is set forth in the annexed claims and cannot be restricted to the illustrative disclosures given above, under the detailed description. It is because a person skilled in the relevant art can obviously produce similar embodiments under the light of the foregoing disclosures, without departing from the main principles of the present invention.
