Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for repairing heterogeneous surfaces of layered objects.SOLUTION: There is provided a system 100 for processing a non-uniform surface of a layered object to improve surface transparency and gloss. In a system 100, an atomizer 112 is operated to apply the fluid material used to form a non-uniform surface to a non-uniform surface to smooth the surface, or an actuator 128 is operated to immerse the layered object in a bath of the same fluid material as the material used to form the non-uniform surface to smooth the surface. In a system 100, a heater 124 is provided to dry non-UV curable material applied to a non-uniform surface and a UV radiation source 120 is provided to cure the UV curable material applied to the non-uniform surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
