Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clamping unit that can apply high force in two opposite axial directions and hold the same even at high spindle speed.SOLUTION: A clamping unit 10 has a threaded shaft 12 for adjusting the clamp jaws of a clamping chuck. The threaded shaft is axially adjustable in the clamping unit by means of a threaded nut 13 connected to a rotor 15 of an adjustment driving device 15, 18. An electrically operable, releasable coupling device 19, 20, 23 has a first clutch element 19, which is connected in a relatively-unrotatable and axially-slidable manner to the threaded shaft 12, and a second clutch element 20, which cooperates with the first clutch element and is connected in a relatively-unrotatable manner to the rotor. When the coupling device is energized, the threaded shaft and the threaded nut are mutually connected in a relatively-unrotatable manner and prevent axial displacement of the threaded shaft.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
