Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a malfunction of a supply pump caused by an influence of a pressure wave which is generated at the valve-opening of a reduction valve.SOLUTION: A fuel injection device of an internal combustion engine comprises: an injector for injecting fuel; a common rail 3 for storing the fuel which is injected from the injector; a reduction valve 15 arranged at the common rail, and reducing pressure in the common rail by discharging the fuel in the common rail at its valve-opening; reduction valve return piping P1 for making the return fuel discharged from an outlet port 16 of the reduction valve flow; a pipe joint 55 connected to an upstream end of the reduction valve return piping; and an adapter 56 which is interposed between the outlet port and the pipe joint, and has an attenuation chamber 69 for attenuating a pressure wave of the return fuel which is generated at the valve-opening of the reduction valve therein.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
