Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel reformer capable of making flow of fuel and oxidant uniform in a reaction field and making temperature unevenness small.SOLUTION: A fuel reformer 1 is configured to oxidize, with oxidant, fuel mainly composed of hydrocarbon, to reform it into fuel having a different octane value. The fuel reformer includes a cylindrical outer pipe member 21, and a cylindrical inner pipe member 22 having an outer diameter D2 smaller than an inner diameter D1 of the outer pipe member 21, wherein the difference between the inner diameter D1 of the outer pipe member 21 and the outer diameter D2 of the inner pipe member 22 is not more than a distance obtained by multiplying a quenching distance by 2. The inner pipe member 22 is provided inside the outer pipe member 21 so as to be concentric to the outer pipe member on a center axis 2a. Between the outer pipe member 21 and the inner pipe member 22, a reaction field 23 filled with reactive substance is formed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
