Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition system for internal combustion engine that can prevent a secondary current from abruptly becoming small during a discharge maintenance control period.SOLUTION: An ignition system for internal combustion engine comprises: a third switching element 14 which is provided with an intermediate tap 12A at a primary coil 12, and cuts off and supplies a primary current flowing from a voltage application part 17 to the intermediate tap; a first switching element 15 which is connected to one end side on the side of first winding 12B; a second switching element 16 which is connected to the other end side of second winding 12C; an ignition control circuit 30 which performs discharge generation control to generate a spark discharge at an ignition plug and discharge maintenance control to maintain the spark discharge being generated at the ignition plug 20 by cutting off and supplying the primary current flowing to the second winding, by controlling operations of the switching elements respectively; and a current feedback path L1 for feeding back a current flowing from the second winding to the second switching element.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
