Abstract:
To provide an internal combustion engine capable of reducing the generation amount of soot at the time of combustion, by promoting the mixture of fuel and air in a combustion chamber.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine which is composed of a combustion chamber 1 made from a cavity 2a recessed at an upper end of a piston 2, and a fuel injection device 4 disposed oppositely to the combustion chamber 1, is equipped with a mixing device 5 disposed on a bottom surface 2b of the cavity 2a. The mixing device 5 has one guiding plate 5a having an annular shape or a plurality of guiding plates 5a annularly disposed at intervals in a circumferential direction, in a top view of the combustion chamber 1; and a supporting portion 5b which supports the guiding plates 5a above a bottom surface 2b and separately from the bottom surface 2b. The guiding plate 5a extends from a center side to the outside of the combustion chamber 1 in a longitudinal cross-sectional view of the piston 2, and inclines downward in the outside to the center side of the combustion chamber 1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
