Abstract:
To accurately estimate PM accumulation amount in a PM sensor even in a transient state.SOLUTION: An exhaust treatment device for an engine includes: a filter for collecting particulate matters in exhaust gas; a PM sensor provided in a portion downstream of the filter in an exhaust passage; and an ECU. The ECU calculates estimated PM accumulation speed Ve (estimated value of PM accumulation speed to the PM sensor) by using flow speed of the exhaust gas, a soot concentration in the exhaust gas and a temperature difference between the exhaust gas and the PM sensor, and calculates estimated PM accumulation amount (estimated value of PM accumulation amount in the PM sensor) by using the estimated PM accumulation speed Ve. The ECU makes a transient correction for correcting the estimated PM accumulation speed Ve by using change speed ΔVg of the flow speed of the exhaust gas when the change speed ΔVg of the flow speed of the exhaust gas exceeds a reference value Vth.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
