Abstract:
To provide a circuit breaker for supplying information on states of a circuit and a connected load when the circuit breaker is at an off position or a trip position.SOLUTION: A control circuit provided in a circuit breaker generates a test pulse through a circuit connected to the circuit breaker and any connected load, and can transmit the test pulse. For example, the control circuit specifies whether a short-circuit exists. In some configurations, the control circuit measures and stores a parameter of a circuit that normally operates when a breaker is in an off state, specifies whether an alarm state exists by performing comparison with the stored parameter when the breaker is later in an off state or a trip state, and starts a proper alert and operation in this manner. In a suitable configuration, the breaker is moved to an off position by transmitting a signal through power connection by using the load, and the breaker can store the cause of a shutdown of the load and report these information to a remote position in this manner.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
