Abstract:
To provide a double mechanical seal capable of efficiently replacing a seal liquid in a seal liquid region if applied to a rotary apparatus.SOLUTION: A double mechanical seal 1 consists of both mechanical seals of an apparatus inside mechanical seal 7 and an apparatus outside mechanical seal 8. In the double mechanical seal 1, outer peripheral sides of both the mechanical seals 7 and 8 are covered by a casing 10. A circulation ring 12 for sucking and discharging a seal liquid 30 is provided between both the mechanical seals 7 and 8. Lead-in holes 15 and 16 for leading the seal liquid 30 into the casing 10 are provided in both apparatus inside and apparatus outside locations of the casing 10. A lead-out hole 18 for leading the seal liquid 30 to the outside of the casing 10 is provided in a location opposite to the circulation ring 12 in the casing 10.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
