Abstract:
To provide a card feeder which, in card feeding for picking up cards at the front part of stacked cards, reduces force with which the cards are stuck to each other in a card accumulation part when the cards are picked up, and thereby prevents occurrence of overlapped feeding failure.SOLUTION: A card feeder includes: a card hopper unit; a card conveyance unit; and a mechanism for applying ultrasonic vibration to a part contacting the cards in any of the units. The card feeder is configured to apply ultrasonic vibration to the card hopper unit. In the card feeder, the card conveyance unit is constituted of either a conveyance claw or a conveyance roller to which ultrasonic vibration is applied. The card feeder is provided with a card pressing unit and a mechanism for applying ultrasonic vibration to a pressing plate of the card pressing unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
