Abstract:
To measure a gas concentration without using a mechanism for monitoring oxygen concentrations around an NOx sensor.SOLUTION: The present invention comprises: an NOx sensor element 12 capable of detecting NOx and an oxygen concentration; an oxygen pump 11 having an oxygen ion conductive solid electrolyte layer and a pair of electrodes, for moving oxygen between the electrodes by application of a voltage to the electrodes; a voltage generation circuit 21 capable of changing the applied voltage of the oxygen pump; and a processing unit 24 for controlling an output voltage of the voltage generation circuit 21 and processing output from the NOx sensor element. The processing unit 24 detects a point of inflection of output of the NOx sensor element for a change of the applied voltage of the oxygen pump 11 in one direction, and selects output from the NOx sensor element on the basis of the point of inflection.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
