Abstract:
To provide a servo which smoothly drives an external component without damaging an output gear even when it receives an excessive torque, and to provide a robot which includes the servo.SOLUTION: A servo includes: a motor; an output shaft used for driving an external component and having an outside side surface; and a gear set arranged between the motor and the output shaft and used for transmitting power from the motor to the output shaft. The gear set includes an output gear arranged around the output shaft. The output gear defines the through-hole for passing the output shaft. The through-hole has an inside side surface opposing to the outside side surface. The servo further includes a connection ring arranged around the output shaft between the outside side surface and the inside side surface. The connection ring connects the output gear to the output shaft, in the case where a load applied to the output shaft is below a preset value, and is used for cutting off the connection between the output gear and the output shaft, in the case where the load has exceeded the preset value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
