Abstract:
To provide a circuit breaker that functions to suppress an arc between contacts of the circuit breaker independently of polarity of a circuit, and that has an arc-extinguisher preventing a drastic increase in complexity and cost of the circuit breaker.SOLUTION: A circuit breaker includes two permanent magnets 140 and 144 respectively arranged in the vicinity of contacts in the circuit breaker, and is designed to displace an arc generated between the contacts toward any one of a first arc-extinguisher 152 or a second arc-extinguisher 156 depending on a polarity of an applied DC voltage.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
