Abstract:
To provide a narrow band range red color phosphor having many light emitting components in a short wavelength range (590 nm to 650 nm) high in spectral luminous efficacy of red color, and excellent in durability, a manufacturing method thereof, a high quality light emitting device containing the phosphor, and a luminaire and an image display device.SOLUTION: There is provided a phosphor containing a crystal phase having a composition represented by a prescribed formula, in which total amount of moisture (HO) generated when the phosphor of 1 g is heated from a room temperature to 550°C is 0.20 mg or less, and a ratio, which is a relationship between peak intensity Iat 2θ=18.0 to 20.0° and peak intensity Iat 2θ=29.0 to 30.5° in a powder X ray diffraction pattern measured by using CuKα ray (1.5418Å) and is represented by I/I, is 0.020 or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
