To provide a water treatment method and a water treatment apparatus capable of efficiently reducing the organic matter of organic matter-containing water.SOLUTION: A water treatment method includes a concentration step of concentrating organic matter-containing water containing organic matter with a concentration device 10, a biological treatment step of biologically treating the concentrated water obtained in the concentration step with a biological treatment device 12, and a coagulation sedimentation step of adding a coagulant to the biologically treated water biologically treated in the biological treatment step, with a coagulation sedimentation device having a first reaction tank 14, a second reaction tank 16, and a sedimentation tank 18, and obtaining treated water by coagulation sedimentation treatment.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
