Abstract:
To provide a water electrolysis device for homogenizing the current density.SOLUTION: A water electrolysis device includes: a membrane-electrode assembly that has a proton exchange membrane and an anode active layer containing an electrode catalyst material and is arranged on one side of the proton exchange membrane; a water inlet collector (81); an oxygen outlet collector (82); and an anode (8) facing the anode active layer, in which one end communicates with the water inlet collector and the other end communicates with the oxygen outlet collector. In a cross section along a normal line of a line (X), the points (A, B) of the anode respectively have total distances according to the water inlet collector and the oxygen outlet collector and the total distance of the first point (A) around the anode is 10% or more larger than the total distance of the second point (B) positioned on the line (X). An overlying layer of the electrode catalyst material on a surface of the anode active layer in the first point is 10% or more larger than an overlying layer thereof on a surface of the anode active layer in the second point.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
