Abstract:
To properly change a shift position on a discharge tray where a medium is stacked according to a thickness of a stacked medium bundle.SOLUTION: A medium processing device comprises: a discharge part which discharges a sheet type medium from a discharge position in a predetermined direction; a discharge tray where the medium discharged from the discharge part is stacked; a shift part which changes a shift position on the discharge tray where the medium is stacked by changing the relative position of the discharge tray with the discharge position in a shift direction orthogonal to the discharge direction; and a control part which controls the shift part so change the shift position for each medium bundle including a plurality of media. The control part calculates a thickness of a medium bundle that the discharge part should discharge, and enables a candidate number for the shift position to be selected from a plurality when the calculated thickness exceeds a first threshold.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
