Abstract:
To stably secure engagement accuracy of a worm 2 and a worm wheel 1.SOLUTION: A backlash adjustment mechanism 30 includes: a holder 31 which holds a second bearing 11 rotatably supporting a tip side of the worm 2; and a spring 70 which biases the second bearing 11 in a direction in which the worm 2 and the worm wheel 1 are engaged. The holder 31 has a first holder 40 and a second holder 60. The second holder 60 has guide parts 62 which support an outer peripheral surface of the second bearing 11 and guide the movement of the second bearing 11 to the worm wheel 1. The guide part 62 has a planar guide surface 160 including a slide area 161 in which the second bearing 11 slides. On each guide surface 160, a protrusion 169 protruding to the second bearing 11 is provided along a direction intersecting with a biasing direction of the spring 70.
