Abstract:
To solve the problem in which: when a cartridge sharing a driving source with an intermediate transfer body is replaced, the intermediate transfer body is driven to rotate accompanying the execution of a preparation operation for the cartridge, and thereby a leading end of a contact member in contact with the intermediate transfer body may be deformed.SOLUTION: When a cartridge sharing the same driving source with an intermediate transfer belt is detected to be a new article, and an image forming apparatus performs an image formation preparation operation, the image forming apparatus supplies a toner to the intermediate transfer belt from a cartridge other than the cartridge sharing the same driving source with the intermediate transfer belt, and subsequently starts the image formation preparation operation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
