Abstract:
To provide an image forming apparatus that can more effectively prevent a reduction in image quality caused by a non-genuine product and a possibility leading to a failure.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a state collection section 113 that, when instructed to execute printing in a subject apparatus in a non-genuine state in which non-genuine product units are attached, collects unit information 161 indicating whether the apparatus is in a genuine state in which all of the attached replacement units are genuine products or in the non-genuine state, from the other image forming apparatuses that are the other apparatuses connected to a network; and an apparatus selection section 115 that, when an apparatus in the genuine state is present among the other apparatuses, receives selection as to whether to select the subject apparatus in the non-genuine state as an output destination or select any one of the other apparatuses in the genuine state as the output destination, when selecting the subject apparatus as the output destination, execute printing in the subject apparatus, and when selecting any one of the other apparatuses as the output destination, specifies one with a higher priority in the other apparatuses as the output destination and causes the specified one of the other apparatuses to execute printing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
