Abstract:
To provide a fluid state determination unit and an ultrasonic flow meter capable of suppressing production cost and electrical power consumption relative to prior arts.SOLUTION: According to a fluid state determination unit and an ultrasonic flow meter of the invention, a first element arrangement surface including a center axis of a measurement pipe is arranged, and second and third element arrangement surfaces are arranged on one of both sides thereof. In the first element arrangement surface, a pair of first ultrasonic elements are arranged, a pair of second ultrasonic elements are arranged in the second element arrangement surface, a pair of third ultrasonic elements and a pair of fourth ultrasonic elements are arranged in the third element arrangement surface, the first to third ultrasonic elements are arranged in a direction being inclined with respect to an axial direction of the measurement pipe. The pair of fourth ultrasonic elements are arranged in a rotation symmetrical manner of 180 degree with the second ultrasonic elements with respect to the center axis of the measurement pipe. According to the four pairs of ultrasonic elements whose number is less than that of prior arts, presence/absence of a swivel flow and drift current can be determined on the basis of a relationship of coincidence/noncoincidence of a propagation period of an ultrasonic between these ultrasonic elements.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
