Abstract:
To provide a technology that can derive a precise basis weight of a recording material.SOLUTION: Processing executed by an image forming apparatus causes a control unit 101 to perform steps of: determining, based on a result of determination of the type of a recording material S, whether the determination result shows that the recording material S is plain paper (S1410); reading out a first basis weight and a second basis weight stored in a storage unit 120 (S1415) when the determination result shows that the recording material is plain paper (YES in step S1410); and deriving the average basis weight obtained by adding and averaging the first basis weight and second basis weight (S1425).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 14
