Abstract:
To inhibit an internal combustion engine, which is restarted after the operation is temporarily stopped, from being inappropriately cooled in a test of the performance or the like of the internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: A cooling water temperature controlling device is configured to include: a supply passage 3 through which cooling water flows into a cooling water inlet 11 of an internal combustion engine 1; a return flow passage 4 through which cooling water flows out from a cooling water outlet 12 of the internal combustion engine 1; a bypass passage 5 bringing the supply passage 3 and the return flow passage 4 into communication with each other; a water temperature sensor 6 for detecting the temperature of the cooling water in the vicinity of the cooling water outlet 12; a water temperature sensor 7 for detecting the temperature of the cooling water in the supply passage 3; a water temperature controller 2 for controlling the temperature of the cooling water supplied to the supply passage 3 such that, when the internal combustion engine 1 is operated, the temperature of the cooling water known via the water temperature sensor 6 follows a target value Tand, when the internal combustion engine 1 is stopped, the temperature of the cooling water known via the water temperature sensor 7 follows a target value T; and a sub-pump 8 which continues operating even when the internal combustion engine 1 is stopped.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
