Abstract:
To reduce vibration and noise during high load operation in an internal combustion engine provided with a main combustion chamber and an auxiliary combustion chamber.SOLUTION: When an internal combustion engine 2 is operated under a high load of a predetermined load or more, a stratified air-fuel mixture is generated so that, at the timing at which an ignition portion 13 ignites a fresh air-fuel mixture, a central region of a main combustion chamber 401 surrounding an injection hole 111 becomes a lean state as compared with a peripheral region located outside the central region.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
