Abstract:
To evaporate a fuel mist group appearing in a cylinder bore in an intake stroke without causing such a problem as the large lowering of the rigidity of a cylinder block.SOLUTION: Heating means 12 such as a heater is cast in, or retrofit to a lower region of a water jacket 9 out of a sidewall 10 at an intake side constituting a cylinder block 2. Even if a fuel mist group 14 exists, the fuel mist group is quickly evaporated by the heating means 12, and the homogenization of an air-fuel mixture in a cylinder bore 1 is thereby promoted, thus contributing to an improvement of an output and fuel economy. Also, knocking can be prevented. Since the heating means 12 is merely partially arranged below the water jacket 9, such a problem as the lowering of the rigidity of the cylinder block 2 hardly occurs.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
