Abstract:
To provide a passenger conveyor capable of properly performing a deceleration control even in the situation where regenerative electric power is low at the time of a power failure during descent operation.SOLUTION: An escalator 1 comprises an endlessly connected footstep 11, a motor 20 driving the footstep 11, an inverter 30 to which an AC electric power from an AC electric power source is input and which supplies a driving electric power to the motor 20, a UPS50 to which the AC electric power from the AC electric power source is input and which stores it, and a control device 40. The control device 40 makes the inverter 30 decelerate the motor 20 at a predetermined deceleration rate using regenerative electric power generated in the motor 20 when a power failure of the AC power supply is detected during descent operation of the footstep 11, and makes the inverter 30 input the AC power from the UPS50 when the load of the inverter 30 is less than a predetermined low load during the power failure.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
