Abstract:
To provide an encoder device which can, even when the temperature of a nonvolatile memory rose, keep a count value corresponding to the number of moving times a moving object, in the nonvolatile memory .SOLUTION: In an encoder device 1, a second encoder 50 counts the cumulative number of moving times (number of revolutions) per given interval of a moving object (rotary member) irrespective of whether or not electric power is supplied from a power source 30 and keeps it stored in a nonvolatile memory 85. A first encoder 40 calculates a multi-rotation absolute angle position on the basis of a cumulative count value (C1) made by adding a count value (C0) read from the nonvolatile memory 85 when the supply of electric power from the power source 30 and a count value of the number of moving times (number of revolutions) counted by the first encoder 40 after the supply of electric power from the power source 30 is started. Furthermore, the count value (C0) stored in the nonvolatile memory 85 is rewritten with the cumulative count value (C1) when the supply of electric power from the power source 30 is stopped.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
