Abstract:
To provide a lash adjuster which achieves good assemblability and can contract to a proper length quickly.SOLUTION: A lash adjuster 10 includes: a cylindrical body 11; a plunger 12 which has a bottom member 18 (bottom part) and a peripheral wall member 19 (peripheral wall part), is slidably disposed in the body 11, forms a high pressure chamber 27 between itself and the body 11, and has a low pressure chamber 22 therein and in which a valve hole 26 for allowing the high pressure chamber 27 and the low pressure chamber 22 to communicate with each other is formed at the bottom member 18; a valve body 28 which is disposed in the high pressure chamber 27 and may close the valve hole 26 from the high pressure chamber 27 side; a first spring 31 (biasing member) which is inserted into the valve hole 26 and applies biasing force acting in a valve opening direction to the valve body 28 from the low pressure chamber 22 side; and a pressing member 40 which is disposed at the low pressure chamber 22 side of the plunger 12 and contacts with a low pressure chamber 22 side end part of the first spring 31.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
