Abstract:
To provide a spinel lithium manganate having excellent charge-discharge properties and output properties at high temperatures and a lithium secondary battery having excellent charge-discharge properties and output properties at high temperatures.SOLUTION: A spinel lithium manganate contains, in its surface, phosphate and at least one metal element of aluminum, magnesium, zinc, nickel, cobalt, iron, and calcium and is represented by chemical formula Li1+XMn2-X-YMgYO4 (in the formula, X and Y are expressed as 0.02≤X≤0.10 and 0.05≤Y≤0.30), with the phosphorus/manganese molar ratio of 0.001 or more and 0.1 or less.
