Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent unnecessary electric power from being consumed by sending a control signal from a sense amplifier output signal circuit to a sense amplifier and a signal holding circuit, and stopping the operation of the sense amplifier while holding a determined sense amplifier output by the signal holding circuit. CONSTITUTION:When the output of the sense amplifier 101 is determined, a sense output detecting circuit 104 detects the determination of the output from variation in the potential of a sense amplifier output signal line 105, and sends a control signal for holding the determined output signal by the signal holding circuit 103 and a control signal for stopping the operation of the sense amplifier 101 at the same time. Consequently, the read value is held by the signal holding circuit 103 until next reading is performed and the sense amplifier 101 stops operating before a control signal CI is sent as a signal for stopping the reading and a precharge mode is entered. Consequently, no unnecessary electric power is consumed.
