Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve fuel consumption and reduce noise by maintaining an engine output at a constant value, and to improve following accuracy to a constant traveling speed, when a constant speed traveling is executed in a hybrid vehicle. SOLUTION: A constant speed traveling control 9 controls an output of an engine 1 at a constant value. At the same time, in regard to the required driving force, it calculates the torque which a motor 6 shares, and drives a generator 4 and distributes the engine output into two systems which are the direct drive and the drive of the motor 6. If a traveling speed is slower than the constant traveling speed, the motor 6 which is being supplied with electric power through the generator 4, is also supplied with electric power from a battery 7, and thus the output torque of the motor 6 increases and the driving force is increased. If the traveling speed is faster than the constant traveling speed, the electric power supplied to the motor 6 from the engine 1 is cut down and the output torque of the motor 6 is decreased, and the cut down electric power is charged into the battery 7 from a inverter 5. The constant speed traveling is carried out by increasing and decreasing the output torque of motor 6, so the engine output is maintained at a constant value.
