Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent horizontal stripe fluorescent flicker generated at the time of photographing with means of a CMOS image pickup device under the illumination of a fluorescent lamp. SOLUTION: Two kinds of images photographed under two conditions of a first electronic shutter value suited to a present external light condition set by an electronic shutter setting part 2 and a second electronic shutter value having a storing time which is integral multiple of a fluorescence flicker cycle set by a mode setting part 106 are compare-calculated by a correction arithmetic means 10. Then, flicker components in an image at the time of photographing under the fluorescent lamp are calculated to control the gain of a video signal so as to cancel flickers. It is also possible to suppress fluorescent lamp flicker by controlling the gain of each output line of an image pickup element in proportion to a flicker coefficient by calculating a flicker correction coefficient from a ratio with an average waveform in three continuous frames by obtaining a fluctuation waveform in a vertical direction from all the lines with an average within an area set by an area selecting part around an optional line within a flicker correcting area as a line maximum likelihood.
