To provide a large-area fiber plate being suitable for miniaturization and cost reduction and being superior in workability in manufacturing process and a manufacturing method therefor and to provide a radiation imager being inexpensive and giving an excellent image quality and a radiation imaging system by using the large-area fiber plate.
Individual fiber plates 5a and 5b cut from one block 4 have side faces arranged adjacently to each other, made parallel with optical fibers and have light transmission faces vertically inverted and are joined to obtain the large-area fiber plate. The large-area fiber plate is provided between a wavelength converter and a photoelectric transducer. Since an area which does not transmit light is very small with 5 to 15μm thickness of only an adhesive 6 in a junction part 7, an area which doesn't transmit light generated in the junction part 7 is made small.
