Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain lead-base alloy for lead storage batteries, which shows corrosion resistance and improves mechanical strength, when it is used for the lattice plate of the lead storage battery, by containing Ba and Bi into this conventional alloy, obtained by improving the conventionally well-known Pb-Ca- Sn-Al alloy for the lead storage batteries. SOLUTION: The lead-base alloy for lead storage batteries consists of a calcium content of 0.03 to 0.10 weight %, a tin content of 0.60 to 2.00 weight %, an aluminum content of 0.01 to 0.03 weight %, a barium content of 0.001 to 0.01 weight %, a bismuth content of 0.05 to 0.15 weight %, and the remainder consists of lead.
