To provide a coin handling device capable of returning a coin fed into a feed port, as the coin, and capable of checking automatically denominations and the number of the coins accumulated in an inside.

The coins fed into the coin feed port 3 are sent to a coin conveying mechanism 10 for receipt of money. The coins in the coin conveying mechanism 10 are conveyed to a tentative reserving part 20, or discharged to a coin dispensing port 6. The coins in the tentative reserving part 20 are sent to a coin sorting mechanism 30 to be sorted, or returned as the coins. The coins are sorted the denomination by the denomination in the coin sorting mechanism 30 to be stored respectively in six coin storage boxes 40a-40f of a denomination-by-denomination storage shed 40, and are taken out to a coin conveying mechanism 50 for payment, based on a payment command or checking command. The coins taken out to the coin conveying mechanism 50 for the payment are conveyed to the tentative reserving part 20 when the checking is commanded, and are paid to the coin dispensing port 6 as changes when the payment is commanded.
