Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce output fluctuation (zero-point temperature drift) of a vibrating type gyroscope during non-rotation, in the temperature range of -40 deg.C to +85 deg.C. SOLUTION: This vibrating type gyroscope is provided with driving vibrating pieces 4A-4D for exciting a driving vibrating mode in a vibrator 1; a detecting vibrating piece 16 separated from the driving vibrating pieces, for detecting a detecting vibration mode generated due to Corioli force in the vibrator; metal films 20A provided at the driving vibrating pieces, for adjusting the Q-value of the driving vibrating pieces; and a vibration damping material 18A made of a polymeric material and provided at the detecting vibrating piece, for reducing unwanted vibration modes generated to the detecting vibrating piece caused by, the metal films.
