To provide a processing method of heat insulators which, in simultaneously or continuously processing heat insulators of two or more kinds, even if a foaming gas of a different kind is contained in each, simply and safely performs the separation and processing.
The processing method of a heat insulator comprises separating, as to a heat insulator composed of a heat insulator base and a foaming gas, the heat insulator base from the foaming gas and processing individually. In the method, in separating the heat insulator bases from the foaming gases from two or more kinds of heat insulators in which individually different foaming gases are contained and in performing the processing, the heat insulators of two or more kinds are crushed, the foaming gases of different kinds are separated from the crushed heat insulators as a mixed gas, the separated mixed gas is passed through a separating means having a porous substance which can pass constituent molecules of one foaming gas of the foaming gases of different kinds but catch constituent molecules of another foaming gas, and thus the foaming gases of different kinds constituting the mixed gas are separated into individual foaming gases.
