Abstract:

To provide flux for one side submerged arc welding to steel for low temperature use with which a weld metal having satisfactory and stable low temperature toughness can be obtained in one side submerged arc welding to steel for low temperature use, and sound penetration shape and bead appearance free from welding defects can be obtained, and to provide a welding method combined therewith.

The flux for one side submerged arc welding to steel for low temperature use comprises, by mass, 10 to 30% SiO2, 2 to 15% TiO2, 4 to 20% Al2O3, 10 to 35% MgO, 0.1 to 3.5% MnO, 0.1 to 0.9% B2O3, 8 to 30% Fe, 3 to 15% CaO, 4 to 16% CaF2, 0.1 to 2.5% Si, 0.1 to 3.0% Mo, 0.1 to 2.5% Al and 0.1 to 2.5% Ti, and the balance deoxidizer, CO2and alkali oxide with inevitable impurities.
