To provide a glass product having a multifunctional film which is excellent in durability (high hardness and resistance to abrasion, chemicals, heat or the like) as a surface layer, can express super-hydrophilicity and functions as a visible light-response type photocatalyst, and also to provide a method for production thereof.
The glass product has the multifunctional film comprising a titanium oxide or titanium alloy oxide on at least a part of the surface of which carbon is doped in such a state as a Ti-C bond, or has the multifunctional film, on the surface of which bristles of fine poles comprising the titanium oxide or titanium alloy oxide are erected in which carbon is preferably doped in such a state as the Ti-C bond. The method for production of the glass product is also provided.
