Abstract:
A body-insertable apparatus (10) includes: an illuminating unit (16) that illuminates the inside of a subject's body (900); an imaging unit (15) that takes an image of the inside of the subject's body (900); a power supply unit (17) that supplies electric power to the imaging unit (15); a electric storage unit (121) that supplies electric power to the illuminating unit (16); and a switch (SW18) that either connects the power supply unit (17) to the electric storage unit (121) or disconnects the power supply unit (17) from the electric storage unit (121). The switch (SW18) electrically separates the power supply unit (17) from the electric storage unit (121) during at least an illuminating period (D1) (see FIG. 5 ) of the illuminating unit (16), in accordance with a control voltage (Vcont) output from a timing control unit (11a).
