To provide a method for coating a building board employing an ink jet coating method wherein ink-droplets ejected from an ink ejection port of an ink jet coating means to coat a surface of the building board are prevented from sticking to an end face of the building board.
The method for coating a building board by ejecting ink-droplets from an ink ejection port 22d of an ink jet coating means 22 to coat a surface edge 11a of a building board 10 roughly rectangular in plan view is characterized by ejecting ink-droplets obliquely outward from the ink ejection port 22d onto the surface edge 11a adjoining one side of the horizontally supported building board 10 while causing the building board 10 and the ink ejection port 22d to move relative to each other along the direction of the above one side, keeping the ejection line S1 of the ink-droplets being ejected from the ink ejection port 22d as it is, so as to allow the ink-droplets having flown at least as far as the borderline EL1 between the surface edge 11a adjoining the above one side of the building board 10 and an end face 12 thereof to fly in the direction of distancing themselves from the end face 12, whereby the surface edge 11a of the building board 10 is coated.
