To provide a method for coating a building board employing an ink jet coating method wherein ink-droplets ejected vertically downward from an ink ejection port of an ink jet coating means to coat a surface of the building board are prevented from sticking to an end face of the building board.
The method for coating a building board by ejecting ink-droplets vertically downward from an ink ejection port 22d of an ink jet coating means 22 to coat a surface edge 11a of a building board 10 roughly rectangular in plan view is characterized by ejecting ink-droplets from the ink ejection port 22d onto the surface edge 11a adjoining one side 13 of the building board 10 while causing the ink ejection port 22d and the building board 10 to move relative to each other along the direction of the side 13, keeping the end face 12 adjoining the side 13 to face obliquely downward by slanting the building board 10 so that the side 13 of the building board 10 faces downward and the other side 14 disposed opposite to the side 13 faces upward, whereby the surface edge 11a of the building board 10 is coated.
