To provide a content distribution system distributing only a content having a context value registered by a user to a receiving node of the user and having a higher fault tolerance than that of the prior art.

The content distribution system includes a receiving node for obtaining a hash value based on a set context value of a context item, and for notifying a peer node, corresponding to the obtained hash value, of the registration of the own node; a peer node for generating a context information database indicating the correspondence between the context value of the context item and the receiving node based on the above registration notification, and a transmitting node for obtaining a hash value based on the set context value of the context item, and for determining the receiving node to which the content is to be distributed, by obtaining information for identifying the receiving node having the above context value set therein.
